The Importance of Water Hydration and Spinal Health

Notably, these discs are primarily made up of water; in fact, healthy discs consist of about 80% water! As we age or experience dehydration, the water content in our spinal discs can decrease. This reduction can lead to disc degeneration, causing the discs to shrink and potentially resulting in pain, herniation, or other spinal issues.
Staying well-hydrated helps keep these discs healthy, allowing for better movement and less strain on the spine.
